What we thought was a reprieve...

Katie is getting some money from her grandmother which we thought would be used for rent and her car payment, but she was then informed that was to help with her car payment and to pay for classes to start a new career. After moving in with her mom.
Due to unemployment not coming through (yet, she sent in an appeal a week or two ago) Katie is now sadly making motions to move out and live with her mom. So one of three things need to happen before the end of the month:
1. Unemployment comes through by some miracle or a job appears for her. 2. I try to sell my car for the other half of the rent which will get us another month. 3. Start looking for a roommate that is laid back, crafty like me, a little on the wacky side but not a perv or tweaker with more income than I have.
Right.
I don't have a working car to live in if I have to move out, no friends or family to move in with as has happened other times. I don't want to lose Katie, she and I have been the perfect pair as roommates. Oh and before anyone mentions it, I cannot leave San Diego. Family and work is here and I'm too young to retire on my 401k. Any place that I could move into that I could afford would be way out of my way for bus route or less than ideal conditions for what I need to live in.

There's nothing more I can do except go to work and keep plugging along hoping that something shows up on our doorstep soon.

It's blustery freezing cold outside right now and I have to go to work. Outside. In the wind. brrrr.
