Well at least I remembered!
Again a mostly uneventful week. Work happened, the weather changed, it's like Summer during the day but when the sun goes down it's suddenly Winter!
Something happened this week that happens a lot all over the world, but you don't really think about it until it's close to home. A co-workers husband died suddenly after she had gotten to work.
You hear about people, famous or otherwise, dying suddenly but until it happens close to hom, either in your family or friends it's one of those things that happens.
Someone who is ill for a time you can prepare for but it is never easy no matter the conditions. It makes you reassess your life, your relationships, how you have dealt with people and generally makes you stop and think.
You never think it'll happen to you one day.
Really.. we're all human and we know everything ends sometime, but it's not something you think about all the time like eating or sleeping. But it does happen, all the time.
So, I have a few documents on my computer that are my 'final wishes'. They aren't an official legal document, but I think I need to deal with that now. I've had a brush with a possible killer and survived but that doesn't mean I'm out of the radar. No one is.
So hug your loved ones every day, every chance you get. You never know when it will be the last time you see them. Call parents or family members if possible and touch base with your voice. Emails and texting is all good, but there isn't anything like hearing a voice on the other end.
I haven't talked to my oldest daughter on the phone in probably two years, haven't spoken to my oldest two brothers in over ten years. We used to be a very close family. It's not like we had a disagreement, but life pulls you apart and soon you're drifting through without realizing what you haven't done in a long time.
So. moral of the week is, take stock of your life once in a while and remember we are all human and life can take a turn suddenly when you least expect it.
On with the less morbid topics shall we?
I made a few small rosette fan pins to sell at the convention we're going to be attending in March. Katie has been making packs of decorative greeting cards. The scrapbook kind with decorative fronts but blank on the inside. She has more talent in multi-media than I do. I can bead and knit, can glue things together, could even tat if I needed to but paper crafting.. blank stare.. clay... backing away from table. Loads of ideas for sure but implementing them is a brick wall for me.
She starts school next week so she's on a time crunch to get as much done as possible that's new to set up on our tables.
We want to have some little ten page stories to set out as well, and display stuff that will draw people in to our booth. We're kind of enlisting Devon's help in working on displays and bouncing ideas off him.
Speaking of that I need to go to the website and register now that I have a little more money in the bank. Got my W-2's and will be doing taxes this week then plan for time off in May, a week in March for the con... maybe another day or two off somewhere in there.
The year has begun, as it always does, we will see where it leads us and what surprises we find on the way.
And now referring back to the thoughts I started with"
