We can't sell much out of storage as it takes gas to get there. So looking at my jewelry which is mostly things I've made, so worth nothing.
These were the first two I found on my computer. Little paper rose pins, the red rose is backed by a page from Shakespeare's plays, don't remember which one. They're a nice little accent and have I believe a pinch back pin. They're all hand made and glued well. The lace one is actually sewn closed but glued to a backing for the pin.
I have other pictures from my etsy page just have to find them. So as far as selling what I have is concerned I have bupkis at hand. Hair combs, earrings, necklaces. I have a silver and enamel bracelet from somewhere, maybe I got it at a flea market, maybe it's from mom, have no idea.
It has 'Mexico' stamped on the back of the design part and '925 on the bracelet. Doing research it is from about the 70's so it's considered vintage but they were a common thing that street vendors were selling apparently because it's only worth about $20-$40 depending on who's selling it on ebay. I hardly wear it and it barely fits anymore on my right arm (I wear my watch on my left). I have a turquoise bracelet but that will be one of the last things I sell due to knowing it did come from Mom's jewelry box and from what I know of American Indian jewelry it came from the AZ area. I don't know the story about it but do remember mom talking about coming back to CA and seeing the Petrified Forest which wasn't protected at the time. I remember large slices that we had in the house and I think I have a chunk still. Anyway I suspect that bracelet dates back to when they were traveling through there so it's older than I am but again only worth as much as the silver and turquoise at this point.
Jon has dozens of watches that are worth lots more but getting him to part with any of them is not an option at this point. He collects them and I mention once in a while that it's only worth a dollar amount if you sell it for that much, other than that, it's worth nothing sitting in a box.
The reason I'm posting this is trying to put a positive spin on having only $40 in the bank until I get money again next month. Electric hasn't been paid, medical hasn't been paid, internet hasn't been paid nor the credit card. I have car insurance but not AAA, Jon paid for Disney+ out of the little he had left so we could watch our favorite stuff. My SL payment didn't go through because that was attached to either my credit card or my paypal which are both not an option. I have 30 days to pay that at least.
So just trying to come up with some way of getting a little extra money. I even started looking for cheaper storage closer to us but it doesn't exist. If I could get rid of that $315 bill or lower it considerably we wouldn't have as much of an issue.
Did you know people are trying to rent out their driveways, empty lots, closets and bedrooms for storage? The website is sort of like Craigslist for storage called Neighbors (I think) and the prices people are expecting to get paid are stupid. 20x8 cargo container is being advertised for $200 but ... is it theirs? No ventilation, looks like it's sitting in a parking lot, and the site says that this is more secure and less than regular storage? I don't think so.
Anyway... going to go look for other things I can sell.
