Well that lasted about two minutes

I've got nothing to sell, no one reacted to my post on facebook so am giving up on the selling things route. Unless I have money to advertise wildly and be pushy it ain't happening. We've got rent paid and electric bill appeased until next month and not much else. We did a food bank pick up the other day and got some huge zucchini, tomatoes, canned goods, more oats, rice and.... plant based meatballs. I was hoping for tubes of ground turkey again. We have meat and other things we can cook so food isn't an issue at this point.

It is technically now Fall. In San Diego that means windy hot weather like it has been for the past month, other than the few days we had some rain from a tropical storm. It's going to be in the 90's during the day and drops about twenty degrees at night.

Remember the days when Fall actually started happening in late August, early September? Maybe it's just the fact that I moved further and further south and east where the weather isn't 'typical Fall' temperatures. I am still pining for moving far north but that's as far as it's going to go for us.

The apartment manager brought our receipt for rent to the door, she's so far very nice and understanding. So much so that she said she talked it over with 'Mike' (head handyman and son of the owner) and they decided to let the $60 late fee from June go away and not worry about it. This came about probably because I told her in vague terms that we were strapped for money between rent and our storage and not much else.  We also did her a favor with moving our car over one spot because a new tenant is coming in October that has a truck and needs a bit more space to back out. Sure not a problem, slightly more difficult for us to get out but I can  manage. One small favor turned another so I'm good with that.

The EBT money is frustrating because one month it will come almost at the end of the month then the next will be a week or so into the month. It's not on a 'every 4 weeks' calendar apparently, the only thing that is sure is the $20 that gets put in on the first or thereabouts. I called one time because it was so late and that was the month I discovered it had been discontinued, apparently they expect that $20 to be what I'm owed, the over $400 is the 'pandemic' EBT. Boy are we screwed when that ever drops out. Shopping at the cheapest places possible we're averaging $40-$100 a week depending on whether we have to stock up on things. That doesn't count non food stuff.

Good news is there will be a social security boost coming next year in January and it will be officially announced in October.  Not sure about any other bonus money that CA has in the works the 'Golden State' refund or something, that could be as much as $200 for each of us or nothing because of our tax filing from last year.

So anyway, not much else happening. Everything is hanging fire and waiting for the next financial calamity to  hit. Because that's my luck. I thank my friends and family every time they help or voice their support i just wish it wasn't necessary.
