And .... today is done.

Scattered news from today:

Good news: I get to wear my own bra and don't have to take the anti-biotics anymore. I won't have to worry about any other appointment overlaps for a few weeks at least.

We woke at 4 am, got out of the apartment before 6 caught the appropriate conveyances and methods as usual. Until the last leg where the Lyft driver missed the exit. Normally, not a big issue but this time of the morning southbound traffic was slow and we were also  on a time crunch for check in time. I had to tell him he missed the exit whereby he caught the next exit and got to where we needed to be.... still got to the appointment before actual appointment time about five minutes to spare. I swear the gps they use is not accurate at all. Any of them. So far, all but one takes the wrong turn in the court where the medical building is. On the right is condo complex, on the left is the address with big black numbers at the driveway entrance. The other is an obvious complex but then they're only going by directions blindly trusting gps. I will have to see about putting in the name of the business instead and see what happens.

Camberos took off the bandage covering the drain holes and the mesh that was covering the incision then did the expansion. Since I had my eyes closed didn't know what he was doing except I felt the sting of a needle and then a little pressure, then he said he was going to squeeze my right side I was figuring he was making sure the expander was smoothing out? Turns out he was pulling out some of the leftover fluid that hadn't drained, (sorry if that's a bit tmi, told you it was random info).

They are 'fast tracking'  the expansion because radiation needs to happen within a time frame no more than 10 weeks after the surgery so it is most effective. I will be having two visits a week for four to six weeks for expanding, depending on size needed. I forgot to ask about the need for extra skin and what size we were aiming for.

They are nice enough to ask what times are good for me knowing my transportation issues and I don't have to see the doctor every time. So late morning and afternoon so we don't have to get up at O Dark Earlyto catch connections for an early morning appointment. Will be printing a calendar page with the appointments on it ...might buy a freaking calendar even.

Thankfully we didn't have to walk much by the time it got hot and it was not as heinously hot when we did because it was earlier in the day. Definitely warm now that we're home (96) so will be closing up as soon as we're done with lunch (done and done).

For a Lyft which is about $30 each way if we went straight from home to the docor. No one has that much of a budget. We can load a monthly pass for the bus on our cards for less than that it's just a PitA for travel. We have about $24 left on the Lyft money, $18 in the bank, $5 in paypal. We get money (hopefully) on Friday (because Monday the first is a holiday and they don't deposit usually on the weekend).

The second mechanic I contacted emailed back and said they don't do mobile for single customers anymore only fleet and apologized for confusion on the website. What does it take to get a mobile mechanic these days?? Will see if I can summon up the fortitude to call the repair places in the area 'anyone offer a tow included in the price of repair?'

Once the expansion sessions are done, it won't be as bad but until then....
