Good news: got the second drain out! I can now take a full shower! I can sleep mostly prone but have to watch for swelling on the side. They also gave me a post op bra when I asked about wearing one again. Wooot! I tried it on and it is not a very snug fit but at least it's something. I guess they allow for swelling since it's a post-op bra. I put it on the tightest set of hooks both straps and band, still loose. Oh well, will show it to them next week..speaking of which...
Annoying news: The only day they had to schedule for the first expansion was next Tuesday. At 8:30 am. The same day I have an appointment at 11:00 am at Grossmont and have to be there by 10:45. Travel time between the two locations by transit is about 45 minutes. I will see how much the cost would be to take Lyft from the doctor in Scripps to the trolley station at Fashion Valley. That will cut travel time but cut into the Lyft money. This also means I have to cancel the van ride I had scheduled for that day since I won't be home. Since it's after 4pm right now, have to wait until Monday.
And about Lyft... the ride from our last bus in Mira Mesa to the doctor, which was about 12 minutes was $28.46, this is a standard ride. Last time it was about $10. Coming back was almost half the cost and again, standard ride. I'm thinking it has to do with the direction given traffic and time of day but then... going north in the afternoon is less traffic than going south on that stretch of freeway. Oh well. I still have enough to get rides next week.
And still no response from mobile mechanics. I looked again at the one that was closest and had good reviews and since he hadn't gotten back to me, wanted to see other reviews... turns out he claimed to have an A+ rating on BBB, but then the BBB site says he is not registered with them. Also, a minor thing but he had two spelling typos on his page which, yes it's minor but if a professional had done it maybe not so much.
So anyway I found another one on the BBB site and sent a request through them with details to that mechanic yesterday and asked to be contacted by email. Didn't see a website listed but then I may have glossed over it.
Edit/Update: After I hit publish closed this out, I looked at my email and lo and behold there was a message from BBB saying 'Tech 1 Mobile Auto Repair' didn't reply in the allotted time so they have forwarded my request to other mechanics (that was an option I agreed to on the form). So at least that's moving forward in an odd kind of way. I just want someone to give me an estimate on how much it would cost and how long it would take to get it fixed!
It was hot today. We spent as little time as possible walking outside and it was somewhat cooler closer to the coast of course, but still heinous when we got home. Jon set up the AC and fans this morning about 10:30 and we left just before noon. So it was running all day and we were thankful. It was 85 outside when we got home.
I just might take WILL BE TAKING a shower tonight before bed. Full shower, head to toe.... it will be glorious.
