And had to spend half of it traveling on public transit.
I didn't get a chance to mention last time that apparently one of the things that is done for radiation therapy is some tatooed dots. I need to ask for clarification on what exactly do they mean by 'tattoo' but the assistant said they're permanent little dots they apply for aligning the radiation area. It's kind of like an MRI or CT scan and they need to line it up exactly every time so they're reference dots for the machine. Boring little dots but who knows.. with everything I've been through maybe I'll have one of them decorated or something.
Nah.
So meanwhile, today we got the monthly money, I paid my copays from last month and then put $50 on the Lyft account but need more than that. So those two combined I spent $135 before I set foot out the door. We left just before 7 and it felt like a typical early desert morning, that almost cool and not quite warm temperature in the shade but as soon as you set foot in the sun, it's over.
We were both starving by the time I finished at the doctor, such a ludicrous situation. Takes me an hour and 40 minutes to get to the doctor, 15 minute visit and I'm done. I did figure out why the lyft driver kept wanting to turn into the condo complex, because I was mis-remembering the address and inputting the one from the first pick up we did. Which was the address across the street.
Speaking of that, it's going to be just as hot next week and I know Jon wants to be there with me but this is brutal. The appointment is at 3:30 which means traveling in the scorching time of day. I can tolerate the sun better than he can and I totally get he's being protective in the best way he can. I told him as much and I could see he was considering it. I'll see if he wants to walk me to the bus stop and see me off as a compromise. I'm a big girl and know the route and know how to keep safe. I'll keep him posted when I arrive and depart the different stations even. Will see what happens.
Still haven't called any of the mechanics, again. We were gone until about 1 today and all we wanted to do was eat and get cool. So this being a holiday weekend, have to wait until Tuesday, that's a doctor day for me but I have the morning to try. I think it's my avoidance of a commitment not wanting to call.
Seriously though it was 94 when we got home today, didn't take Rocky out at all and he was screaming at us when we walked in the door. He hadn't had second breakfast yet and it was past noon for crying out loud, he had first breakfast at 6:30. Poor cat was wasting away I'm sure.
So nothing much else other than slowly 'reinflating' my right side again and removing any extra fluid. That's it.I really want my car back. I went and checked on it and other than being absolutely filthy and getting cobwebs all over, the tires seem to be okay still. If the weather were nicer I'd go down and try to start it again. That way I know to tell the mechanic if the battery is dead or not.
Running out of energy myself right now, long tiring day.
