Nothing too stressful so rambling

Yesterday's travel was mostly uneventful and not too bad for weather up until we sat in a trolley car and one guy got on that.... let's just say was not the best smelling. We hopped off at the next stop and back into another car.... that had someone playing their radio. Can never win lately. Then the bus coming home some dad was making a stink about his son not being able to ride for free because he should have had the right pass. Father was less than insightful and was not reading effectively to put it politely. Poor kid was 10 years old and looked like he was worried he would have to get off the bus and dad would stay They both rode until we got to the mall of all places after dad was saying he only wanted to get home. Whatever.

We stopped at the store and picked up a few things but we are getting low on meats and canned goods as well as paper goods. I can't afford delivery and there's no one available that is able to shuttle us to Costco and the grocery store. More correctly I don't want to impose on friends and family any more than I have been.

The expander sessions are only about 15 minutes total, get in pump it up and get out again. It's rather tight now like a tight bandage only one one side but that's as it should be. They are doing 100 (cc's I assume?) each session and ask if it's too uncomfortable and so far it's not been. They want to get up to about 800 so.... that's four weeks with two sessions a week. I'm halfway there at this point. It's like filling a balloon with water but since most of my skin in that area is numb anyway, it's just tight.  Incision is healed nicely but am slightly concerned about the two holes from the drains. Going to ask the nurse to take a look at them next week.

The reason why I upped the amount I need to fix my car by about 200 is one of the ways a starter can go out is oil dripping on it. I have had an oil leak in the front and the back for a couple of years now and that is my reasoning. They would probably want to fix whatever leak caused it in the first place and thus up the cost. I can't and won't get a credit card, that is a pit I will not fall into again. Besides, wouldn't be able to get more than maybe $300 and that won't help much.

Next on the agenda is radiation (which I have a shuttle available to use through Sharp) it's just all the other traveling I need to do besides medical. I messaged Amber and she said she'd be able to load the Lyft card again so that will help. It's costing about $20-$30 a trip to the doctor depending on the ride we get. Sometimes one way is cheaper than the other due to traffic. Earlier in the day is cheaper but since we're later in the day around 3, it's heavier traffic time.

So no yarn or garden purchases this month. Again.  Garden is empty other than the oregano plant that is surviving.  When things start cooling down again I can think about planting seeds for the winter. Depends on what stage I'm at in recovery/healing so maybe not anything until spring next year. I have more than enough yarn to do whatever I want, just not yarn that I  want to do other things with. I want to make a pair of fingerless gloves for katie and messed up only getting one ball. It's September already and should have started on them a month ago. I am moving ahead on the 'Sheepicorn' speckled socks at least so those will be done by the end of the month. That's something to look forward to at least.

That's all for this week. Weather continues to be hot, but it's now edging down again but not by much.

(couldn't find my looney toons sign off)
