Progress but help is needed

 Friends, family, strangers and acquaintances....

Car situation is a bit closer to getting fixed but I need help. So far, one shop quoted about $730 for parts and labor to replace the starter motor. I looked at the estimate sheet and they were charging almost the same for labor as the part. $360 for labor at $150 per hour! Good lord! I haven't had a car worked on in years because the last number I remember was about half that rate. Charging $336 for the starter motor sounds a bit excessive as well.

So I called another place and he quoted me about a hundred less for the whole job and about $80 for the tow to the shop. So about the same price including the tow.
I have one other shop to contact that is literally right up the road from us that we can take the bus to pick it up if we go with that, and of course no shop is open on the weekend.

It still leaves us with getting it done sooner rather than later. $800 is my estimate that is needed to get my car in basic working condition at this point. I am completely tapped out of any extra money for the month. I added money to bus and lyft and that runs down quickly with regular trips every week.

But we gotta just keep swimming right?

I have another doctor appointment tomorrow afternoon and then repeat on Tuesday and Friday next week. I have about two or three more weeks of those visits. Then radiation treatment five days a week for at least three weeks and have no idea when they plan to shoehorn the next surgery in.

Considering the issue we had on the trolley the other day, I REALLY need my car back in working order just to reduce the stress and time involved. 

I don't expect one person to cough up that much money and using gofundme is not helpful. The economy is tough on everyone right now and I so understand that but any help would be appreciated.
